Gochu Jang has a silky red body that has the perfect balance of saltiness and spiciness with a sweet flavor that lingers subtly at the end. To produce this perfect balance of salty and spicy, it requires a traditional preparation method by first steeping malt in water, stirring endlessly, and fermenting naturally. The result of this brings out a pungent savory flavor delivering that P-O-P in your mouth a the first bite.
GochuJang is traditionally used for Bibimbap sauce, BBQ marinade or as a flavor enhancer. Gochu Jang has gained its popularity from Chefs from around the world for its innovative creation usage, such as Gochu Jang Mayo, Spicy Chicken Wings, or Gochu Jang glazed salmon.
